The project:

“Don’t Just Scroll, Take Control” is an 11-day training course focused on participation in democratic life and the role of youth workers, youth leaders and educators in empowering young people to become active citizens. The project responds to a growing challenge: many people are highly active online, react to social issues through social media and share opinions digitally, but often remain disconnected from real democratic processes, local decision-making and structured civic participation. In today’s digital environment, young people are constantly exposed to political messages, public debates, campaigns, misinformation and social conflicts. However, scrolling, liking or sharing content does not always lead to meaningful participation or real change. At the same time, low trust in institutions, political apathy, lack of media literacy and limited knowledge about democratic rights can make young people feel powerless, unheard or excluded from democratic life.
