We are looking for young people who would like to help us organize cultural and/or educational events at our cultural centre and who are willing to help us with maintenance of a cultural centre. We regularly host cultural and educational events of various forms while we participate in the community life of our town as well. We expect volunteers to be an active part of our activities and even to come up with new events / activities if they are interested. We will appreciate it if they are curious and eager to learn new things (preparation of sound technique and lights for events, preparation of posters, etc.) and at the same time they will help us with daily tasks, e.g. posts at social networks, photos from events, selling tickets at events, help with seats for viewers, accommodate our guests, help with the maintenance of the building, etc. We are a dynamic place that became a centre of the independent culture of our region. Moreover, Rožňava is surrounded by beautiful nature which is free to be explored and enjoyed.
Project period – 01/03/2025 to 30/11/2026 (a maximum of 12 month in this period)

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements:
Volunteers will be accommodated in the accommodation premises of our cultural centre. We run a vegetarian restaurant at our cultural centre so volunteers can eat lunch right here. Our cultural centre is located in the historical centre of our town (Rožňava, Slovakia), close to several restaurants and shops. The closest supermarket is 500 m away from our place. One can get to Rožňava by bus or train, Rožňava is located 1 hour by car/bus/train from Košice, the second largest Slovak city, with an international airport (good connections for example with Prague, Vienna, Warsaw or London).
Every participant will have their travel costs from the country of residence to the project covered according to the ESC distance calculator.
Application conditions and requirements for volunteering:
✔ basic knowledge of written and spoken english
✔ Between 18 and 30 years old
✔ willing to actively contribute to the shaping of the project
✔ creative, motivated and engaged
