Purpose of the projects:
The goal of the youth house is to promote the development of a stable and comprehensive personal development of young people, self-directed youth, continuous participation in the education process and integration into the labor market. During the project volunteers will be involved in daily life of the Centre by supporting youngsters and the organization’s staff in dealing with everyday situations, homework and organizing various activities for the youngsters, for example, creative workshops, sports activities, foreign language and discussion clubs, national culture and food cooking evenings and other individual volunteer’s initiatives. Volunteers will actively work together with the organization’s team to support activities for the local community in Lastādīja, visit schools, go for outdoor activities like hikes, boat rides, mountain riding & etc., do outdoor games, realize your own ideas and learn in practice.
Number of volunteers: 1 volunteer between 18-30 years old for each project
Projects’ period:
1. Riga Youth Centre “Kaņieris”: September 2023 – June 2024 (10 months)
2. Baltic Regional Fund, Youth Studio “BaMbuss”: September 2023 – August 2024 (12 months)
3. Riga Municipal Children’s Youth Centre: September 2023 – August 2024 (11 months)
4. Association “Spirit of Adventure”: September 2023 – August 2024 (12 months)

Accommodation, food, and transport arrangements:
Volunteers will be accommodated in an apartment with two floors together with other 7 volunteers from the project and have a separate room. The room has furniture, pillows and blankets, linen. The house has a common area, kitchen fully equipped with necessary things, WiFi, washing machine, toilets and shower in each floor. It is located in a safe area, 25 min to the center by public transport (trolley stop nearby, tram – 7 min walk), and a food store just around the corner.
Application conditions and requirements for volunteering:
We would prefer you to be active, adventurous, not to be afraid of alternative-thinking, work outdoors and minimalistic conditions. No specific knowledge is needed, but you should have the desire and be ready to learn, be fully involved. The working language will be English.
