Long term ESC project in Belgium!

Location: Genappe, Belgium

Hosting Organization – Genappe Cultural Centre

Sending organization: “Common Sense” Youth Organization

Purpose of the project: The « Genappe cultural centre » proposes a cultural project oriented toward the fight against any type of social isolation and the promotion of the territory’s specificities. The volunteers will be carrying different tasks at the cultural centre, at the youth centre, at the Monty (intercultural and creative space), in the “Genappe in transition” movement… These tasks could be for example: welcoming the public at the youth centre or during public event, help with the organisation of cultural activities, workshops, meetings… help at the solidarity grocery, help at the stage management at the Tof theatre, help to organise festivals… The expected schedule would be from Tuesday afternoon until Saturday, but this schedule is flexible according with the time of the year.

Number of volunteers: 1 volunteer between 18-30 years old (Only Azerbaijani citizenship)

Project period  – 01/10/2019 to 30/09/2020 (1 year)

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements:

Accommodation with two other ESC volunteers in Genappe town. Private rooms and shared bathroom, kitchen and living room. Food and pocket money is provided every month to the volunteer, who has to manage his/her budget by him/herself. The accommodation and the place where the volunteering take place are close to each other, and therefore reachable by walking.

Application conditions and requirements for volunteering:

Our project is open to anybody motivated by volunteering and who wishes to be involved in our organization and working in the field of culture, regardless to their nationality, religion, believes, diploma, professional experience. A volunteer comfortable with any type of public, willing to learn French, interested in transition towns topic, flexible, willing to share about her/his culture and country.
