Long term ESC project in Belgium!

Purpose of the project: The non-profit organization “Foyer l’Aubépine” was created in 1965 and is located in the village of Havelange, South of Belgium. Aubépine’s team supports daily 15 youngsters encountering all sorts of difficulties, in dangerous situation (health or security), lacking educational support due to their familial environment or to their behavior. The organization hosts minors from 3 up to 18 years benefitting from a right of protection and deal with their relatives. The 2 volunteers will participate in the daily activities organized in the association. Aubépine is a children’s home, therefore, there are tasks to perform from 9 am to 22 pm. ESCers’ role is to support the technical and educational team to take care of children and teenagers daily (Maintenance of the house and garden; prep.of meals; support for homework; leisure activities;…). To a lesser extent, the ESC’ers will be offered to take part in other activities of the local network (social grocery, public library, Youth house).
Number of volunteers: 1 volunteer for each project between 18-30 years old (Only Azerbaijani citizenship)
Project period: 01/10/2019 to 30/09/2020 (1 year)

Accomodation, food and transport arrangements:
The volunteers will share a fully-equipped house or apartment with one or two other ESC’ers in the municipality of Havelange or Ciney. The transport costs from the house to the location of activities will be foreseen and covered if necessary. Food: the volunteer will receive a budget and will take care of the meals by her/himself. Budget foreseen for travel costs and volunteers will receive monthly pockey money.

Motivated/ willing to work with kids and teenagers daily/ interested in local initiatives/ flexible/ basic skills in French/ certificate of good conduct required/ not afraid of rural life and teamwork
