The project: “Equality now” is a training course focused on giving participants the chance to get a better understanding of the different perspectives on gender equality across cultures and increasing their sense of sensitivity and tolerance. We want to create a space where people can exchange ideas, challenge their views, embrace differences between them and find and appreciate similarities. After the project, we would like our participants to see gender diversity as a chance instead of a threat.
The key objectives of the project:
- To raise awareness among youth workers about gender-based violence towards women;
- To increase knowledge of youth workers about gender equality and women’s right in different cultures;
- To make youth workers reflect upon their own ideological and cultural background regarding women’s rights;
- To explore the potential of youth work in preventing discriminative, violent and radical behavior among young people;
- To establish a network of like-minded organizations and individuals who are interested in the further exchange in the topic of promoting gender equality;
- To develop a concrete plan for follow-up projects and local activities focusing on promoting gender equality;
- To raise the professional capacities of workers by giving them specific methods and tools so they will be able to carry out their own projects about women’s empowerment in their local community.
