Purpose of the project:
JUKUS is a non-profit and non-governmental organisation specialised in supporting youth, culture and sports. JUKUS contributes to the establishment of intercultural and socio-cultural activities in the area of Graz. JUKUS runs a youth center called “ECHO”. Main target group of this youth center are migrants. At ECHO, young people can spend their free time away from the pressure. Here their needs are taken seriously, their worries and problems are listened to, their ideas are met with interest and – if possible – they are implemented. In an informal atmosphere, young people can find support and suggestions to enable them to discover their own resources and potential. The youth center sees itself as a place of communication, which is open and inviting for young people of all origins. The role of the ECS Volunteer is to support various activities, projects and the day to day work at the youth centre “ECHO”, assist our team, initiate our own projects and workshops.
Number of volunteers: 1 volunteer between 18-30 years old (Only Azerbaijani citizenship)
Project period – 01/03/2022 to 28/02/2023 (12 months)

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements:
JUKUS will provide a volunteer with a room at the student’s dormitory. There is the opportunity either to use a provided bicycle to reach the organisation or to use public transportation (ticket provided). The locations are reachable by bus or tram. Food allowance is €250/month, pocket money €150/month.
Application conditions and requirements for volunteering:
Soft skills: openness, communicability, initiative, self-organisation and teamwork.
Hard skills: experience and willingness to work with youngsters, some knowledge of pedagogical and social work, motivation to learn to speak German.
