Purpose of the project: JUKUS is a non-profit and non-governmental organisation/association specialised in supporting youth, culture and sports. Since ten years, JUKUS has significantly been contributing to the establishment of intercultural and socio-cultural activities in the area of Graz and Steiermark.JUKUS runs a youth center called “ECHO”. Main target group of this youth center are migrants.The role of the EVS Volunteer(s) will be contributing to the various JUKUS projects and the day to day work at the youth centre “ECHO”, supporting our team and working on our projects and working with our youth workers and the youngsters at the Youth Centre. They will work with young people, organise activities with and for them and help out at our office.

Number of volunteers: 1 volunteer between 18-30 years old (Only Azerbaijani citizenship)

Project period – 01/12/2020 to 31/01/2022 (1 year)

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements:

JUKUS will provide a volunteer with a room at student’s dormitory. There is the opportunity either to use a provided bicycle to reach the organisation or to use public transportation (ticket provided). The locations are reachable by bus or tram. Food allowance is €250/month, pocket money €150/month.

Application conditions and requirements for volunteering:

Soft skills: openness, communicability, initiative, self-organisation and teamwork. Hard skills: experience and willingness to work with youngsters, some knowledge of pedagogical and social work, motivation to learn to speak German.
