Purpose of the project: Houens Odde Spejdercenter is the biggest scout centre in Northern Europe. It is owned by KFUM-Spejderne i Danmark – the biggest scout association in Denmark.. Here the centre provides activities, food and lodging for customers on training, camps or conferences. The guests at the centre come from schools, kinder gardens, and scout groups. Each year the centre has around 30.000 overnight guests on this account. We also provide activities , food, lodging and facilities for companies on training or conference. Volunteers will be a part of a mix staff between Danish and international permanent and voluntary staff. At our scout centre the volunteers will be doing all sorts of practical work in teams and cooperation with other young people from different cultures and countries. They will be given the possibility to do activities for scouts on scout camps and scout events, and they will be given the possibility to make team building activities for non-scouts at our centre.

Number of volunteers: 1 volunteer between 18-30 years old (Only Azerbaijani citizenship)

Project period  – 01/07/2020 to 30/06/2021 (1 year)

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements:

Volunteers are staying at the centre in a volunteer apartment. There are room for 6 volunteers. You have your own room, but share the living room and kitchen with the other volunteers. The centre provide food and transportation. There are 2 cars that the volunteers can use in their spare time. There is also public transportation. The centre pays for a part of the transportation.

Application conditions and requirements for volunteering:

You want to work outside all year round. You do not need to have any practical skills in advance, but you want to learn new skills and are ready to come out of your comfort zone. You are interested to work in a scout atmosphere, but you do not have be a scout. You are curious about other cultures and way of living, and are flexible, open-minded, want to try to be an instructor, like practical work. Having a driver’s license is not a must, but a good thing to have, since you will be living on the countryside. Being able to speak English.
