Project name: Long term ESC in Social Cultural Centre Die VILLA – Welcome Team

Purpose of the project: One of the main working fields of the VILLA is „Willkommen in Leipzig“. „Willkommen in Leipzig“ includes different projects for the integration of refugees and people with migration background in Leipzig. Integration, education and participation are the most important values of the so called „Welcome-Team“. The „Welcome-Team“ coordinates and creates the following projects: VILLA Dinning: People with different cultural background are cooking together and spend time together. VILLA Lernpaten: Language lessons, friendships, commitment for families with migration background. Willkommens-Touren: Trips in and around Leipzig. Kulturleben: Participation on cultural life in Leipzig for people with less money. As a volunteer you will work mostly in the project VILLA Dinning and Willkommens-Touren. One day per week and/or during the summer-time you will also work in another part of the city: in our „KOMM-Haus“. The „KOMM-Haus“ is linked to „Die VILLA“.
Number of volunteers: 1 volunteer between 18-30 years old (Only Azerbaijani citizenship)
Project period – 01/03/2020 to 28/02/2021 (1 year)

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements:
You will live together with other volunteers in a shared flat, with single bed-room. You will be payed with 150 € (Pocketmoney), 251 € (Foodmoney) and 35 € (local transport)
Application conditions and requirements for volunteering:
Volunteers should be interested in getting to know the work in a big socio-cultural centre and be open to get into contact with people from different ages, world views and religions. All should like to work with people from different ages. Basic knowledge of German is required. Applicants without a basic knowledge of German can’t pass the preselection. For the ESC in the „Welcome in Leipzig“ and „KOMM-Haus“ should find an open, honest and hearty way to approach people. The main tasks will be on the one hand to create ideas alone or in the team and on the other hand to communication.
