Long term ESC project in Italy!
Location: Varese, Italy
Name of project: European Vision with POLHA disable sport association

Purpose of the project: Taking part to the daily life of POLHA association in realizing sport projects in different sports. You will accompany young adults in various sports training such as hand-bike ( special bikes for wheelchair users), sledgehockey, sitting volley and boccia. The various athletes train twice a week in different sport hall and gyms. Training are in the afternoon or in the evening. Competitions will be on Saturday and Sunday. Volunteers may take part to these competitions if they like. Volunteers also work with disabled children ( 6-12 years old) in a swimming project some mornings a week. In the office work volunteers will work on promotional activities, social networks communication and organisation of sport and communication events.
Number of volunteers: 1 volunteer between 18-30 years old (Only Azerbaijani citizenship)
Project period – 07/10/2019 to 04/10/2020 (1 year)

Accomodation, food, transport arrangements:
Volunteers are hosted in a fully equipped house, with two bedrooms, living room, kitchen and bathroom. The house has also a garden. You will share bedroom with another volunteer. You receive a monthly food allowance to buy food on you own You have a monthly train and bus ticket to move in the surrounding area. If you have a drive licence you could also drive the association van.
Application conditions and requirements for volunteering:
All people aged 18 – 30, who have a genuine interest and passion for working with people with disabilities. No professional skills and experience is required. We look for a volunteer willing to be a real support in the association, doing various tasks with great sense of solidarity and service. As we work with vulnerable adults, the volunteers should be kind, patient and compassionate. Having driving licence and being able to drive a van is really welcome.
