Volunteers will work with young’s from Rujiena in Youth organization Ligzda. Every day we have 15- 20 young boys and girls who are coming to center to spend their free time after school or between activities. Also, we have young’s with social problems, but till know we have organized lot of activities to involve youngs as volunteers or organizers. Volunteers will work in team – 3 volunteers and youth center leader. Working hours – 13:00-19.00. In summer we will organize camps.

There are two open positions:

1) Volunteer in Rujiena youth center, Youth worker- 15.04.2025-30.10.2025 – 1 person

2) Volunteer in Youth organization Ligzda, media youth worker – 15.04.2025-30.10.2025 – 1 person

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements: 

Living for EVS: The address is Upes street 9/11, Rujiena, Latvia, LV-4240, at the Multifunctional Youth Initiative Center, and the phone number is +371 25450585. The accommodation is located on the 3rd floor. You must keep the keys safe for the building’s outside door, the youth center door, and your private room. The outside door should always be locked. The room is for two people. The kitchen, WC, shower, laundry, and living area are shared and open for all hostel guests. The room is equipped with a bed, table, chair, wardrobe, towel, sheets, blanket, and pillow. The kitchen has a stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave, dishes, and a toaster. The laundry has a washing machine. For food, each volunteer will receive 180 EUR per month (6 EUR per day). For pocket money, each volunteer gets 150 EUR per month (5 EUR per day). Travel costs are covered according to the Erasmus+ distance calculator.

Application conditions and requirements for volunteering: 

✔ knowledge of written and spoken english on an conversational level
✔ 18 – 30 years old.
✔ Culturally interested, creative, active and open-minded

✔ experience in youth work would be appreciated but is not mandatory
