Purpose of the project: For 25 years our youth and culture center has been welcoming young people for volunteering projects in the beautiful city of Salzburg. Our center is a welcoming space where individuals aged 10-18 can express themselves freely, find support, celebrate their uniqueness, and enjoy their leisure time. We offer diverse spaces such as a music studio, a sports room, a kitchen, an outside area, an event room, and a stage and we organize activities like tournaments, games, open stages, concerts, our own radio show, workshops, and school support if needed. At our youth and cultural center, we embrace diversity and strive to create a supportive environment where all young individuals can thrive, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. We are proud to be a part of the LGBTQIA+ community, promoting equality and empowerment for all. Join us for volunteering in a welcoming space. ACCOMMODATION, FOOD, AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
In Sorgun you will share an apartment with double rooms, bathrooms, and an eat-in kitchen. Accommodation is provided by the coordinating organization SORGED. You will live in the apartment together with other ESC volunteers. Volunteers will have kitchen utensils and internet in their homes. In accordance with the rules of the Türkiye National Agency, 5 Euros per day will be paid for pocket money for volunteers.
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY
The main activities to be carried out by volunteers are as follows:
-SORGED administrative and office work;
-Organisation of sports, healthy living, environmental and cultural activities; -Outdoor activities (sports and environmental activities involving local people) -Training to support the personal development of volunteers (such as teamwork, and leadership)
– Participate in Turkish lessons;
– Organise activities with young people locally;
– prepare and present presentations on Erasmus+ and ESC;
-Organise intercultural activities; – organise English speaking clubs
PARTICIPANT PROFILE
To be interested in the project topic, to be motivated to do sports, to be sensitive to the environment and to work on issues, to be interested in different cultures, to be creative, active, open-minded, and open to teamwork, to be able to work as a volunteer and to be ready to take responsibility, to be open to education and innovations, to be able to represent the home country and the sending organization in the best way, to be able to speak English at least to express themselves to be solution-oriented and tolerant, to work in a planned manner and to accept all the rules of ESC
