Purpose of the project: Established in 1997, “Tremtinių Namai” is dedicated to providing high-quality and comprehensive services to the elderly while upholding human dignity and fostering connections with society. It is a welcoming, secular institution that offers international volunteers a unique emotional and cultural experience, the opportunity to make new friends and a memorable intergenerational encounter. As a volunteer at our institution, you will actively engage in the daily activities of our residents, building meaningful relationships and learning to effectively meet the needs of elderly and disabled individuals. Volunteer tasks include assisting with daily activities such as exercise, board games, group cooking, creative projects, outings, and organizing holidays and concerts at the care home. Volunteers are encouraged to suggest and organize new activities to enhance the residents’ experience.

Project period – 43 weeks during the period of 01/10/2024 to 31/07/2025

ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS

As a volunteer in Vilnius, you will have the opportunity to be hosted in a comfortable flat alongside other like-minded volunteers who share your passion for community service. You will have your own private room, providing a space for rest and relaxation. You will also get: – a monthly bus card; – a monthly stipend for food and pocket money; – a team of dedicated professionals, including a mentor for personal support, a project coordinator to help you get the most out of your experience, and a tutor from the hosting organization to guide you every step of the way. 

TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY

Maximize your potential and make the most of your volunteer experience with our comprehensive support system! As a volunteer, you will receive On-Arrival and Mid-Term trainings organized by the National Agency, as well as regular meetings with our dedicated Coordinating Organization. We understand that reflection is key to personal growth, which is why hosting organisation offers regular reflection sessions. These sessions provide a safe and supportive environment to share your experiences, learn from one another, and grow both personally and professionally. 

PARTICIPANT PROFILE

Volunteers at “Tremtinių Namai” are valued team members, demonstrating qualities such as time management, creativity, communication skills, punctuality, and independence. Volunteers should also be able to make decisions and have responsibility, patience, and compassion towards the residents.
