Project name: MOUNTAIN FUTURESCAPE: Youth Cooperation and Cultural Enhancement

Purpose of the project: Get ready to contribute to the Stone Oven House project by carrying out various tasks. You will learn and practice the maintenance of cultural heritage, as rebuilding dry stone walls and cleaning the woods. You will work closely with artists, studying and practicing the re-functionalization of interior spaces through the sustainable use of resources and materials and the regeneration of exterior spaces. You will contribute to artistic initiatives aimed at positive social change and at the same time learn the importance of caring for the land and nature and the actions this requires. Furthermore, and not least, you will contribute to communicating the social change generated by these collective actions.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements: Volunteers are asked to pay their own travel tickets. They will be reimbursed at the end of the service upon the delivery of all the original tickets and boarding passes of their trip. The travel reimbursement is calculated upon the travel distance and the Country the volunteer is coming from, based on flat rates established by the European Commission. Food and accommodation will be provided by the host organization. Each volunteer will have a shared room, with a shared bathroom in a traditional farm house. He/She will be provided three meals a day, wi-fi connection, sheets and towels.

Training during the activity: The project will offer several training moments in order to prepare and support the participating volunteers. The involved organization will support the participants before departure providing all the necessary information to organize the trip and clarify any possible doubt about the project. Then, during the mobility, they will provide an on-arrival and a final evaluation moments in group, and the possibility to get individual support during the project activities. Volunteers will also have a daily reflection space where they can evaluate the daily activities and confront themselves.

Participant Profile: Among the possible candidates, the profile most akin to the objectives is a strong spirit of sharing and listening; ability to collaborate and adapt to contexts strongly isolated from major urban centers and at a pace of life dictated by nature; artistic curiosity and sensitivity to the surrounding environment; respect for the habits and customs of others and willingness to change and convert one’s prejudices; interest in rural life or affinity with nature; willingness to work as a team and to be as involved as possible. Previous knowledge in some of the following topics will be very welcome: social media and copywriting, graphic design, radio streaming, youth participation, language teaching, european programmes. – Accomodation and work place are accesible for people with reduced mobility.
