Purpose of the project:
DAGTEK offers services for people with intellectual disabilities or autistic spectrum disorders as a part of Western Uusimaa wellbeing services county. The activities Dagtek offers are divided into several sections in different areas. The volunteer will assist partly in our arts & crafts workshop and partly in life skills activities. It is also possible to partly assist in FIX-TV (a small group working with film and media) if the volunteer has skills in that field. The volunteer can also take initiative to arrange small workshops with different themes, for instance at this moment our volunteers are offering a weekly cooking class and Beauty Salon. Dagtek’s life skills activities, offer guidance and support to small groups of 2-4 participants. These activities are tailored to each participant’s condition, interests, and needs. Approximately twenty people engage in daily activities like music, arts and crafts, painting, games, and outdoor walks. The aim is to promote active involvement, decision-making, and individualised daily experiences for each participant.
Number of volunteers: 1 volunteer between 18-30 years old (Only Azerbaijani citizenship)
Project period – 01.03.2024–28.02.2025 (12 months)

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements:
The volunteer will live in a shared flat together with another volunteer of Dagtek. Lunch will be offered at Dagtek. Other meals will be cooked by the volunteer and the volunteer will get a food allowance. The possible daily commuting costs will be covered for the volunteer. Accommodation details will be provided to shortlisted candidates. Travel expenses are covered with a certain limit.
