The main task of the volunteers is to get to know everyday life in the field of care and to enrich it with additional impulses and projects in the sense of the European idea and variety. Sample activities: – support of a small residential group of people with special needs during free time and leisure activities; – support of team members in their regular tasks and care for beneficiaries; – support of daily activities in the different centers – helping people with special needs when they prepare food and teaching them how to do it, alongside team and clients (who are always fostered to participate in order to remain as independent as possible); – initiation and implementation of own projects related to working with people with special needs, to development of useful skills for both sides (volunteers and clients) in cooperation with other volunteers, team members or also beneficiaries.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements:
All volunteers will be accommodated in the area of Meckenbeuren (headquarters) and Bodnegg in the federal province Baden-Wuerttemberg. Type of accommodation – shared apartment (typical German WG/Wohngemeinschaft) – own room and a shared kitchen and living room Food: self catering, monthly food allowance (there is a canteen for team members). Local transport – monthly ticket for all public transport lines in Germany (das Deutschland-Ticket). International transport – covered through the program up to the limits according to the country of origin.
Apart from the standard trainings provided by the European Solidarity Corps and managed by the German National Agency / JUGEND für Europa, Stiftung Liebenau is ready to offer following in-house training opportunities during the project: – introductory training in the field of support for people with disabilities; – regular Come Together meetings with other national and international volunteers for exchange of ideas and experience; German language course can be offered through the ESC standard OLS/Online Language Support, but added to that volunteers can count on extra classes.
Application conditions and requirements for volunteering:
Young adults aged 18-30 who are motivated and ready to engage in the social field and to contribute to a tolerant and just society and to support good quality of life of vulnerable groups. German language knowledge of at least B1 level. The project is calling your name if you are initiative and able to work independently, teamwork oriented, responsible and reliable, interested in training and self-development.
