Purpose of the project: The Klaipeda Queen Louise Youth Centre stands as a beacon of non-formal education, dedicated to empowering children and young people. Our mission is to equip individuals with the essential skills to become self-aware, resourceful problem-solvers who can actively engage in society and thrive in an ever-changing world. Our Centre provides a unique and welcoming open space in Klaipeda for youth aged 14 to 29. Here, participation is completely voluntary—young people can come and go as they please, free from the constraints of regular attendance. We proudly attract individuals from diverse schools, universities, and backgrounds, including those in the workforce, and we are particularly committed to supporting those who have faced social exclusion. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements: Volunteers will reside in an apartment, where they will have their own private rooms. However, they will share the bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, and dining room with other volunteers. A project will cover costs such as accommodation, food, travel, and living expenses for the volunteers. Volunteers will be insured through Henner. Each month, they will receive a stipend for pocket money and food to purchase necessary items.
Application conditions and requirements for volunteering:
Before coming, volunteers will have the pre-departure session in this country and when they come to Lithuania, they will have on-arrival and mid-term training. Training will be about volunteering experience and the Youthpass certificate. In a Hosting organization, volunteers can learn about Lithuanian culture and traditions, know how to organize and implement activities for kids and young people, have a clearer idea of what they want to do in the future, and volunteer in different activities.
Volunteers are not required to have experience or skills when working with young people. However, they should genuinely believe in and enjoy working with youth, as this will be the primary group they engage with. Our basic requirements for volunteers are as follows: – Aged 18 to 30; – Strong motivation and commitment to participate in volunteer activities; – Patient, responsible, and open-minded; – Willing to engage in social and community life; – Interested in creating and implementing initiatives and activities for youth; – Curious about different cultures and committed to intercultural learning; – Eager to share personal experiences and cultural insights; – Ready to learn and actively participate in the service. We look forward to welcoming passionate volunteers who meet these criteria!
