Community-centers Lend and NaNet Floßlend are meeting points of our vibrant Lend district in Graz. These two community centers are not just buildings; they provide an inclusive space for all residents. Our mission is to create a welcoming and engaging neighborhood. We Offer: Information & Social Counseling; Community Building & Engagement; Sustainability Initiatives; Food Sharing Network; Community Gardens; Active Lifestyle Promotion. As a volunteer, you’ll assist in organizing and executing community events that bring our residents closer together. You’ll be communicating and collaborating with people of different backgrounds and generations. You’ll be active in sustainability initiatives, working to reduce food waste through our food sharing network and promoting eco-friendly practices like maintaining our community garden and cycling in the town.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements:

Accommodation is provided in a student dormitory in Graz, a single room in a shared flat. Local transportation to the center (public transport ticket) is covered. As a volunteer you receive food allowance of 330 Euro/ month and pocket money 210 Euro/ month – according to ESC program guidelines. Travel and visa costs are also covered by the program.

Training during the activity

Volunteers will be welcomed as part of the team and supported in finding their role. You will have a mentor, join our team meetings and supervision. Volunteer will take part in On-Arrival Training and Mid-Term Training provided by the Austrian National Agency. A German language course is offered. Volunteers will receive continuous support from the team.

Participant profile

Open, communicative, proactive and self-organized person, eager to work in a team; interested in community work and sustainability; experienced with office suite and social media platforms; some knowledge of pedagogical and social work; motivated to learn German and be able to communicate freely with the people.
