NOTE: 100% of the accommodation, food and transportation during the project will be covered with the support of Erasmus+.

The project:

This project aims to contribute to quality improvement in youth work, specifically to
educational youth work with young people across different regions of Europe, who might have traumatic experiences.For youth workers, it is very helpful to have appropriate competencies and access to relevant methods when working with young people affected by overwhelming events. These events include exposure to larger stressors, such as war and displacement, as well as less visible, yet equally impactful events of exclusion, abuse, social isolation, etc.

Mentioned competencies and methods may include:

•Emotional literacy and self-awareness
•Basic somatic and nervous system literacy
•The ability to regulate one’s own nervous system to co-regulate with others
•Non-violent communication and restorative dialogue
•Nature-based and arts-based activities for emotional expression and connection
•Storytelling and narrative methods, using resources of metaphores.

Specific Objectives:

•To deepen youth workers’ conceptual understanding of trauma-responsive approaches in youth work.
•To equip participants with practical tools and methods from trauma-responsive practice for use in non-formal education with young people.
•To foster international cooperation between the participants and project partners on traumaresponsive youth work.

Participants profile:

•Connected to youth and community work as educators, project managers/coordinators, or volunteers
•Curious and open to exploring topics of psychoeducation, self-awareness, and well-being
•Ready to engage in an experiential and intercultural learning process
•Able to communicate in English
•Minimum 22 years old
•Committed to participating in the full training programme consisted of 2 training course.

Venue and accommodation

The training will take place at Peace Camp Gremi, a glamping-style social impact training space in the Kakheti region of Georgia. It is located in nature and co-managed with a local inclusive community (Temi).
