 We are looking for 2 volunteers to develop their project in a school and a kindergarten located in a rural area called Montejo de la Sierra. In this School, families and adults in the area are involved in this educational project, participating through learning communities, under the training and guidance of teachers and staff educational. It takes place in a family atmosphere, living closely with each person who participates in the programs, with the families, with professionals, and with anyone who is involved to make the day-to-day life of the school so easy and so special for the boys and girls. The small groups make the teachers’ work have a very high performance while giving them the opportunity to treat each student individually, maximizing their abilities. The tasks are related to supporting teachers and children in their daily life classes and the life in the school, also out of the classes.

ACCOMMODATION, FOOD, AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS

We are located in a very small village in Serrada de la Fuente, Madrid, Spain. Serrada de la Fuente is located one hour and a half by car from Madrid city center and 3 hours away by public transport. Serrada de la Fuente (click the link) is a beautiful area in the mountains in Madrid, totally rural with 70 inhabitants Parkeri NGO will be in charge of accommodation (one house for you and other volunteers to live), food, and transport arrangements according to the European Solidarity Corps standards.

TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY

Parkeri NGO staff are experts on the European Solidarity Corps (trainers on the Programme since 2014), so constant support will be provided to the volunteers. Mandatory training, like Arrival training and Mid Term Evaluation, will be developed according to the Spanish National Agency calendar. Learning support will be provided and Youthpass will be given at the end of the volunteers’ projects. We will also offer the volunteers to participate in trainings connected with non-violent communication, sociocracy, and other non-formal education trainings/activities.

PARTICIPANT PROFILE

Due to the nature of this volunteer project, in a rural area that will work with children, we need: – High motivation to accompany children in their school activities with a caring and supportive approach, connected with Amara Berri methodology – Person committed and mature – Negative certificate of sexual misdemeanors – Negative certificate of criminal/penal misdemeanors – High motivation to develop the project in a very isolated rural area in the mountains In Parkeri, we believe in INCLUSION, GENDER EQUITY, SOCIAL JUSTICE, SUSTAINABILITY and we have an ANTI-RACIST and DECREASING approach as organization principles.
