Project name: Long-term volunteering at Centre for Children at Risk in Tallinn

Purpose of the project: Tallinn Center for Children at Risk is a welfare organization, where children who have been left without parental care or have behavioral or substance abuse problems, get professional help. This organization has two centers in Tallinn: Lilleküla Shelter and Männi Shelter. Children are hosted in these two shelters for various reasons, most common are vagrancy, home negligence, family violence, parental alcoholism or drug abuse, parental unemployment, or loss of residence due to family poverty. The staff that works directly with the children consists of the manager of the shelter, social workers, and a nurse who all aim to provide the children a safe environment. The main idea is to provide assistance and support to local personnel in daily work, particularly in running various educational and free time activities for the children and youth. Project period – A total of 39 week(s) during the period 01/10/2024 to 30/06/2025

ACCOMMODATION, FOOD, AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
Volunteers will be accommodated in a shared flat that corresponds to the typical living standards in Estonia. Each volunteer will have their own single or double room, alongside access to common areas including an equipped kitchen, bathroom facilities, and a living room. Typically, volunteers share the flat with other international participants and utilize local city transportation for their daily commute which is also covered. Additionally, volunteers will receive a monthly Pocket Money of 150€ for personal expenses and Food Allowance of 200€, managing their own meal planning and preparation.

– The ability to speak Russian language is a big help, as this is the native language of many children in the Shelter.
