Purpose of the project: The Portuguese Red Cross – Local Branch of Cucujães is looking for volunteers for a project in Oliveira de Azeméis (Portugal). This is a very hands-on and diverse project that gives young people the opportunity to experiment with new things, explore their vocational interests, and work with multiple target groups (ranging from children, elderly people, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable individuals). Volunteer tasks include caring for children and young people, providing care and support to elderly people in a Nursing Home, supporting Laundry and Kitchen Services, helping during fundraising activities, sharing European opportunities for youth (in-presence and online), and many more! ACCOMMODATION, FOOD, AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
Volunteers will have their own shared apartment located within walking distance of the volunteering activities venue. Volunteers receive an allowance of 300€/ month which includes pocket money and food allowance and they also receive Free Health Insurance and the reimbursement of their Travel (to start the project and at the end of the project). Visa expenses are also covered.
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY
Participation in this volunteering project includes self-development and Training opportunities! It also includes Training (Arrival Training and Mid Term Training, both provided by the Portuguese National Agency), Task-related Training (task-related Training is provided by the Hosting Organisation), Online Language Support (OLS), Regular Staff Day Out (team building and self-development activities), Other Trainings in-presence or online and Reinforced Mentorship with a personal Mentor.
