Purpose of the project: Project includes a summer series of creative activities in the city’s public spaces of Poznań provided for 30 enthusiastic volunteers from different countries during holidays 2024. Participants will facilitate public animation for kids who stay in the city the whole summer and prepare our own art-street festival like a grand finale! The crosscultural activities will enable children to “travel” to distant cultures without leaving Poznań, improve language skills & acknowledge the importance of cross-cultural collaboration. Volunteers will take part also in outdoor festivals around Poznań to prepare them for creating our own festival. Main values are • INTERCULTURAL EDUCATION • ARTISTIC EDUCATION• ECOLOGY AND HEALTH • PEACE Volunteers will develop their creativity & animation methods in a first week training.

ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS

Volunteers will stay in a Student Dormitory Jurand in Poznań in the shared rooms with fridges and bedsheets, access to the bathrooms. In the close area there are shops, a supermarket, bus and tram stop just in the front of the dormitory. Dormitory provides shared rooms. Participants need to have their own towels. CIM Horyzonty will provide a local transportation card for each volunteer, such that there is around half an hour to the city centre. Volunteers will have pocket money & food allowance. During festivals participants will stay in tents. Therefore please take your sleeping bag to PL! 

TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY

First week ESC participants will undergo intensive training on the values and activities with kids and festival preparation. Final evaluation at the end of the project. Volunteers will have experienced mentors to support their process of volunteering and development; – planned integrations, getting to know each other, Poznan, evaluations with mentors and coordinators, psychologists if needed. Supervisors will manage their work in each activity place. 

PARTICIPANT PROFILE

You have to be enthusiastic, active, interested in street/intercultural activities, like to work with kids, art and have fun with non formal education and festivals. Communication: English. Age:18-30 years old. Share our values: committed civic peace attitude, transcultural, anti-discrimination approach, open minded for cultural and social differences, inclusion, diversity and cross-cultural collaboration not only in activities/work but in everyday life behaviour.
