Purpose of the project: You are welcome if you want to help the stray animals for their food and medical needs. We work in collaboration with the Municipality of Sinop to help the ones which are sick, wounded, young and old. We work on the ones which are in the shelter as well as the ones which are living outside without an owner. Our members work in the shelter and help the staff there for their food and show affection. The tasks of the volunteer: Working in the shop of the association in Sinop and helping making products for the tourists in order to make income for the veterinary and food expenses of our stray friends. The shop opens in May and closes in October. Working hours change depend on the temperature. The volunteer will work between 6 – 7 hours per day. Saturdays and Sundays are off. We would appreciate if the volunteer has unique talents in making special products that attract tourists such as temporary tattoo making and contributes in our product making sessions. We will provide them the necessary materials. We make mostly upcycled products in favor of the environment.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements:
The volunteer will share a flat with the other volunteers but have his/her own room. They will get 4 Euros per day for pocket money (30 x 4 = 120 Euros per month) and 130 Euros for food per month. So altogether the volunteer will have 250 Euros per month. They will be reimbursed for their flight up to the maximum amount according to the distance of their home country in the ESC Program guide. The volunteer will not pay for their accommodation, Wi-Fi, electricity, water and gas but they have to use them neatly and economically in the flat. We kindly ask them not to forget the lights on and water running when leaving the house. Because the electricity is not cheap in Turkiye, neither is the public water. The volunteer will live in a furnished flat with the other volunteers who are here for the other activities. The volunteer will have her/his own room but share the kitchen and bathroom. There is furniture, Wi-Fi, hot water, kitchen tools, iron etc. There are bed sheets as well. But there is no hair dryer and towels. There might be sick animals that need intensive care under the responsibility of the vet volunteers at home. We will provide a separate room for them. In case the volunteer wants to foster or adopt an animal and take them in their room, they need to make sure that the furniture stays safe.
We are looking for one volunteer for each period who is motivated to carry out the tasks about and love animals. You don’t need to know English perfectly but you need to know Turkish in a communication level.
