Purpose of the project: Dogtor Foundation is a non-governmental organization that works in the area of pet-assisted therapy. Dogtor Foundation is involved in dog therapy – a form of activity aimed at people with physical and mental disabilities and those suffering from other dysfunctions and illnesses. We and our dogs work mainly with disabled children (e.g. with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy etc.). We also provide specialist training for dogs and for people in regard to dog therapy, as well as a dog obedience school, educational activities for children of different age groups, teaching the correct and safe behavior with dogs and respect for animals. All the activities take place in schools, kindergartens, homes for children, hospitals and other special institutions, as well as at the Dogtor Foundation’s headquarters in Gdynia.
On the daily bases the volunteer takes part in the whole organization’s life including interaction with customers, assistance to the therapists during the workshops and the group sessions, work with documentation, preparation and dissemination of informational and promotional materials, participating in promotional activities, help in office and administration tasks and other small everyday tasks. Depending on the abilities and interests of the Volunteer, his/her tasks may include taking and editing photos and videos, preparing promotional and informational posters and flyers, as well as preparing creative aids supporting therapeutic activities. Additional tasks of the volunteer will be to help with selection, training and examination of dogs for dog therapy. The final tasks of the volunteer are assigned together with the project coordinator according to the volunteer’s interests, abilities, and also current organization’s needs.
Number of volunteers: 1 volunteer between 18-30 years old (Only Azerbaijani citizenship)
Project period – 01/09/2021 to 31/08/2022 (12 months)

Application conditions and requirements for volunteering:
We especially welcome applicants with a friendly attitude toward animals, who like working with children and disabled people, full of creativity, honesty, and openness. Great communication skills are a must. S/he should be open to different and new people from other countries and cultures, from different age groups and like to co-operate and work in groups. On the whole, the volunteer should be interested, open minded to contribute with one’s own creativity in the group’s work and willing to develop his/her personality
