Project name: Volunteering in social therapy village for people with special needs

Purpose of the project: Volunteers will live and work in a therapeutic village Camphill Rožkalni together with 10 people with special needs and with 6 coworkers and their families. Volunteers will be engaged in all daily activities, including participation and work in the workshops: tea and herb workshop, cow shed – feeding and taking care of cows, dairy workshop – making cheese, yoghurt, soft cheese and sourcream, paper workshop – making school exercise books for Waldorfshools. Using a schedule that will be designed together with volunteers, they will also be engaged in cooking and caring for the house. Both in Rožkalni village and in Renceni there are different cultural events and other activities. We will cooperate with local Rencēni primary school and Rencēni culture house to engage volunteers together with Camphill villagers to take part in these activities and will encourage volunteers to initiate their own activities – possibly language courses and other intercultural evenings and activities.

Number of volunteers: 1 volunteer between 18-30 years old (Only Azerbaijani citizenship)

Project period – 01/11/2020 to 31/10/2021 (1 year)

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements:

You will live in a room in our village – farm that consists of two family houses, a culture house, barn, cow sheds. Your daily meals will be offered here on site and there is no necessity to commute to work since you will live on site. The closest village with a shop is 9km away and Valmiera, the closest city is 16 km away. There is public transportation available. You will receive pocket money – 120 euros per month and food money – 50 euros per month for your snacks or special treats.

We are looking for self-motivated young people who are willing to work on a farm and are not afraid to perform different tasks, spend time with people with special needs.
