Sending organization: “Common Sense” Youth Organization

Purpose of the project: It is a Greek non-profit civil partnership that is inspired by the principals of mutual respect and care of the life society, environmental integrity, social and financial justice, democracy, non-violence and peace. Aims: Creation of social structures based on the ideas of solidarity and equality; Fostering inspiration for natural farming and permaculture design with respect on the natural environment, biodiversity, sustainability; Consumer awareness through creative alternatives and volunteering activities that aim solidarity, sustainability both in the individual and social aspect, moral consumption, non-violence and environmental respect; Endorsement and support of experiential learning following the principles of sustainability, bio-natural agriculture, permaculture; Training, support, management of non- typical learning training programs; Promotion of intangible cultural heritage and cultural events; Encouragement of ideas for alternative pedagogies for children and youth.

Number of volunteers: 1 volunteer between 18-30 years old (Only Azerbaijani citizenship)

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements:

Expect to discover a large variety of The Mediterranean cuisine! Vegan and gluten-free based diets are available in Halkidiki. Participants will take care of their own food having access to kitchen appliances. You have many alternatives at your disposal: the local market, the organic shop and the supermarket. The program is funded and supported by the European Commission which means that expenses are covered by the hosting organisation (local transporting, food, pocket money). Traveling refunds are subject to Erasmus+ and the budget’s approval. Volunteers will receive on a monthly basis: 150€ pocket money and an extra 150€ allowance for food.

Application conditions and requirements for volunteering:

– 18 – 30 years old – Interest in permaculture, natural farming, solidarity activities, working on information channels, sustainability and the organisation of events. – the volunteer should be aware of sustainable practices & nature conservation, with a pro-active, open mind inspired by creative thinking.
