Long term volunteering project in Bulgaria!

Purpose of the project: The main goal of the presented project is to increase the interest of young people in science and education. Our project aims to involve young people as volunteers in the activities of the Association and the Bulgarian Academy of Science, Schools with which we have strong partnerships, the National Museum “Earth and Man”: – Training, workshops, events, movie evenings, dedicated to promoting science in an interesting and interactive way among young people – Organizing short trips in Bulgaria for young people, so that they can learn about different aspects of the natural sciences – biology, chemistry, ecology, geology and mineralogy – plant research, minerals and rocks, water sources and soil. – Involving young people in a real research project – Organizing thematic seminars and discussion meetings 

Number of volunteers: 1 volunteer between 18-30 years old (Only Azerbaijani citizenship)

Project period  – 6 months volunteering period after getting accepted

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements:

The volunteers working office will be established at the Institute of Mineralogy and Crystallography Laboratory Base 8km (https://goo.gl/maps/BFZgiWQstN8ZbDmX9 ), as well as the main building of the Institute of Mineralogy and Crystallography (https://goo.gl/maps/Vfsq3Fzifiq5F2MJA ). Payment – 450 BGN per month paid in cash at the beginning of each month. Estimated daily costs: – Breakfast – 3 BGN – Lunch at the Academy campus (a nice and big meal) –  5 BGN – Dinner – 8 BGN. 

Application conditions and requirements for volunteering:

Aged 18-30  – With good command of English (ability to clearly understand and communicate in – English) – Open to new learning experiences and interested in working with young people – Interested in the topic of the project – any of the above mentioned areas or similar one. With past experience or educational background related to science and education – Open-minded, tolerant and able to communicate and collaborate with people from different backgrounds and groups (in terms of age, income, race, ethnicity, religion, views, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, etc.) – Flexible and proactive – Adventurous and eager to discover new things; open to taking part in outdoor activities, including physical activities in the urban garden, as well as camping, field trips, etc. – Able to commit to take part in the project for a period of 6 months
