Long term volunteering project in Belgium!
Location: Brakel, Belgium
Project name: Giving voice to children with a disability
Hosting organization: Diggie vzw
Sending organization: “Common Sense” Youth Organization
Purpose of the project: Diggie vzw is a youth work organization located on a farm in Brakel, a rural area in Flanders, Belgium. The aim of the organization is to counteract alienation between people within each other and between people and nature. Diggie is a sociocultural organization and is organized for and with children and youngsters, with a strong focus on learning by doing, inclusion, ecology, and sustainability. Our starting point is that everyone is welcome on the farm, whatever the age, gender, religion, conviction, social background, and whatever the abilities or disabilities. We try to see the best in everyone and we have a positive view on the world and on society. Interested? Take a look at our site! https://www.diggie.be We don’t accept mails with a cover letter and/or cv. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements:
The place of residence depends on the ESC-volunteer‘s preference. One option is to stay in Brakel, the small village. We will then look for a hosting family or a nearby place of residence. In this case, we’ll also provide a bike to come to Diggie. Another option is that the volunteer lives in Ghent, a city 30km away. Then we‘d search for a room or house to share with peers. From Ghent the ESC-volunteer will have to take a train and bus every day to come to Diggie. All costs of residence and transport will be paid by Diggie. We provide 200€ monthly for food.
Application conditions and requirements for volunteering:
