Long term ESC project in Estonia!

Location: Tartu, Estonia

Project name: European Solidarity for Partnerships

Hosting organization: TYPA Centre

Sending organization: “Common Sense” Youth Organization

Purpose of the project: Børnehuset believes that the volunteer position at our institution offers the volunteer the opportunity to learn about Danish kindergartens and the philosophy on which their activities are based. The volunteer will also study the new trend towards focusing on physical activities as a mean to children’s development. Being based in a small town, the placement also offers the volunteer the possibility of learning about life conditions in countryside Denmark. The volunteer is very welcome to make his/her own activities with the children, and we will do our best to help and support the volunteer so that the ESC-stay with us will meet his/her expectations. Examples of activities in the kindergarten: • Carrying out a wide range of outdoor nature/physical activities • Spending time in nature, go on walks and doing other activities related to nature • Doing indoor activities when weather requires it

The apartment will have the usual amenities, furniture, dishes etc. You will be provided with a monthly allowance for food and living expenses of around 320 euros. Tartu is a relatively small city, so most locations are within walking distance. There is also a good public bus service and a city-wide bicycle rental system. Getting around will be easy!

Application conditions and requirements for volunteering:

We are looking for people who are interested in cultural heritage and for whom working in a museum setting sounds exciting. In addition to heritage and history, we are also looking for an outgoing personality, who can work with people, assist with visitors, workshops and other events. You should also be interested in larger issues related to art and culture. Our project will require you to collaborate closely with an art school, nature house and the entire team of Tartu Capital of Culture 2024 foundation. You and other volunteers will brainstorm joint activities and carry them out!
