Long term ESC project in Croatia!

Purpose of the project: Main objective of the ESC Project EUROMIJA 2 is to support Roma inclusion in Croatia. Specific objectives are to raise awareness in society about problems faced by Roma and supporting empowerment of Roma community. The volunteers will be involved in the range of activities organized and run by the RNV including preparation and implementation of number of workshops in the schools and other institutions in Croatia. Workshops will be implemented with the aim of raising awareness of the students about the Human and Minority Rights, inequality, diversity and other related topics. Volunteers will be involved in writing of articles for the Portal ROMI.HR related to Roma issues and other subjects. Volunteers will together organize at least one street activity during their voluntary service. Volunteers will participate in the planning and implementation of complementary activities through the Campaign against hate speech and implement own personal project based on volunteer ideas.

Number of volunteers: 1 volunteer between 18-30 years old (Only Azerbaijani citizenship)

Project period  – 15/08/2020 to 15/05/2021 (10 months)

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements:

The accommodation for volunteers will be organized in the apartment with all required amenities including central heating and internet. The accommodation is located close to the RNV Office (15-20 minutes) and has direct public transport line to the Office. Volunteers will be able to use kitchen in the accommodation and second one in the RNV Office to store and prepare food. Near the Office is also one of the largest General stores in Zagreb. The RNV will cover the cost of local and regional transportation for the volunteers as well as the cost of arriving in Zagreb and leaving from Zagreb.

Application conditions and requirements for volunteering:

We are looking for open-minded young volunteers with strong sense for Humanity and Equality. They should be highly motivated, team workers, ready to learn and to adapt, and with interest in Minority Rights and Human Rights. Strong interest civil society (NGO) activism would be an advantage. Ability to speak and write (articles) in English is very desirable. Gender, ethnical, religious or political affiliation are not relevant for implementation of this Project. We are open to candidates with different backgrounds and motivated for additional support to volunteers with fewer opportunities.
