Long term ESC project in Netherlands!

Location: Waalwijk, Netherlands

Project name: Assistant English/art/music teacher

Hosting Organization – Primary School Juliana van Stolbergschool

Sending organization: “Common Sense” Youth Organization

Purpose of the project: The ESC volunteer will assist one experienced, native English speaker within the school by teaching English. This will take place during class lessons and for extra hands such as reading and further small group activities. Furthermore, the volunteer can set up projects for an eTwinning knowledge exchange. Throughout the year, the Juliana van Stolberg school participates in different sports tournaments on the Wednesday afternoons and in the weekends. The tournaments are usually soccer, hockey, basketball and swimming. The volunteer can assist here as well. Further activities will be projects about Active citizenship, celebration of 75 years of freedom (after WOII) in the spring of 2020. Depending on the interest and talents of the volunteer, he/she can help the professional with cultural activities for example, music, dance, act, craftsmanship or physical education. During the summer holidays the ESC volunteer will organise an international/ spanish summer-school with other volunteers.

Number of volunteers: 1 volunteer between 18-30 years old (Only Azerbaijani citizenship)

Project period  – 01/01/2020 to 31/08/2021 (8 months)

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements:

Accommodation, pocket money and food allowance will be arranged. You will have access to a bike. Dutch lessons are provided.

Application conditions and requirements for volunteering:

Open-minded, social, energetic and creative youngsters who have affinity with children and are interested in music, acting, dance and craftsmanship. Furthermore, he or she likes to organize and plan events and teach children. Preferably native English speaker.
