Project name: Volunteering at FS1

Hosting organization: FS1 Community TV

Sending organization: “Common Sense” Youth Organization

Purpose of the project: FS1 is Salzburg’s Community TV station. It is an independent, non-commercial, non-profit TV station in Salzburg, Austria. We run a 24h Television programme, featuring the civil society of Salzburg. 30 organisations and 80 individuals are member of the organisation, together with independent producers a “user generated TV” is produced and broadcasted. We run an intense training and workshop program called “FS1 Academy” to qualify producers from all social, economic and cultural backgrounds.FS1 has high ethic goals, we support minorities, migrants, impaired people, youth, cultural and subcultural movements and are partnering with similar organisations in the field of media literacy, media training and education. 

Number of volunteers: 1 volunteer between 18-30 years old (Only Azerbaijani citizenship)

Project period  – 01/02/2020 to 31/01/2021 (1 year)

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements:

A local standard accommodation is provided. Receives food money monthly from the host organization. Local transport is provided by the host organization.

Application conditions and requirements for volunteering:

The volunteer should have interest in media and technic. She/he should be motivated for creating own inputs for television, work independently and creatively. Some experience (study, job…) in media or cultural institutions would be fine, but it’s not necessary, because FS1 will qualify the volunteer in our “FS1 Academy”. After the first time of introduction the volunteer could also get creative and make his/her own TV contributions (whatever the topic will be – and even in her/his own language or in two languages.)
