Name of project: European Vision – with elderly people in SMS

Purpose of the project: Taking part to the daily life of the daily centre for elderly people ( 20 users, 1 educator, 4/5 social workers, volunteers), young people will take part of the work of social workers and educators in developing activities aiming at social inclusion of elderly people and the maintenance of skills and ability in senior people. Task of volunteers are supporting the employees during the activities such as workshops ( creative, art-lab, art-lab such as drawing, theatre, dance, music both live music or listening), during welcoming and lunch time ( supporting during lunch in distributing dishes, helping some users, collecting dishes and clearing the room) or training and promotional activity for esc volunteers ( language course, youthpass or volunteers club meetings ). Another part of the project will be the promotion of active participation of young people through volunteering opportunity, this will be taking part to local initiativ.
Number of volunteers: 1 volunteer between 18-30 years old (Only Azerbaijani citizenship)
Project period – 01/10/2019 to 31/10/2020 (1 year)

Accomodation, food, transport arrangements:
Volunteers are hosted in a fully equipped house, with two bedrooms, living room, kitchen and bathroom. The house has also a garden. The volunteer will share bedroom with another volunteer. The house is 5 minutes’ walk far the associations place. You have lunch in the association and you also receive a food allowance for the remaining food costs. Local transport for project are covered
Application conditions and requirements for volunteering:
All people aged 18 – 30, who have a genuine interest and passion for working with people with disabilities and or elderly people. No professional skills and experience is required, however it is recommended that volunteers have an experience in similar sector or providing support in personal life in order to have a realistic idea of working with people with disabilities. As we work with vulnerable adults, the volunteers should be kind, patient and compassionate. hobbies and skills that they are willing to share with the residents, such as art, music, cooking, drama, sports are welcome.
