Project description: The volunteers will carry out their EVS Activity in the Youth Council of the City of Cartagena, collaborating in the different programs promoted by this entity, all programs related to youth and social with children and youth. Program for young readers (Mandarache), volunteers from Cartagena (IMPLICA2), Youth Information, language exchanges (Bolsa Idiomas), Erasmus Student Network of the University of Cartagena, Youth Space Children’s library (The Botika of the Book), etc. They will support the operation of all these programs, participating in the development of socio-cultural activities.

Voluntary operation time and project activities: During this EVS project the volunteers will participate at two training manage by Spanish National Agency:
- On Arrival Training, some weeks after the start of the project
- Mid Term Evaluation , in the middle of the project
Every months he tutor will send a monitoring questionnaire to supervise the volunteers and to resolve every conflict or trouble and every week there will be a meeting coordination.
The volunteer will receive language training through two Spanish courses in the Language Service of the University of Cartagena.

Application conditions and requirements for volunteering:

Candidates should:

  • Be motivated and interested about the topics project;
  • Possibly have previously experienced voluntary activities, not necessarily
  • Basic knowledge of Spanish language.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements:

The accommodation will be in a shared apartment with other European volunteers. They will get free accommodation for the whole duration of your voluntary service. They will share a private apartment with other EVS volunteer, in Cartagena, the apartment is situated near Youth Space.
It’s composed of two separate bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and one bathroom. Volunteers will receive food allowance for each month, paid by Ayuntamiento Cartagena.
Volunteer will have a bus ticket (local transport) in case you need to go to the place where you carry out the activities of your project.
